The Dom People
Over one thousand years ago the “Gypsy” people began a series of migrations out of India. Those who made their way to the Middle East and North Africa are called Dom, while the migrants who went to Europe are generally called Roma. Throughout the centuries their language and culture have assimilated many features of the people among whom they have lived.
